The MSIH attracts an extremely diverse group of students from around the world. This setting is ideal for the prospective student who
envisions this as the framework and foundation of how he or she will develop the essential skills to treat patients and conduct
medical research in a global society.
Geographically set at the crossroads of where the Eastern and Western Worlds meet, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev serves a critical role within Israel to develop leaders in medicine to tackle global problems. All cultures, religions,
ideological beliefs, and levels of economic status connect in Israel.
MSIH students spend three years in Beer-Sheva, Israel, as part of the collaboration between Ben-Gurion and Columbia University, conduct 4th year clinical clerkships at Columbia University Medical Center in New York City. and conduct required 4th year clerkships at approved international sites.
Our students are engaged in volunteer medical work during summer
sessions, establish collaborations to treat migrants from the
developing world, and partner with humanitarian organizations to expand the reach of their medical research.
International students seeking to study in Israel require a valid student visa for the duration of study. Students who are accepted to the Medical School for International Health must submit passport information and personal data in oder to receive appropriate documentation to apply for a student visa, which is granted by the Israeli Ministry of the Interior.
While students from countries that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel may apply and be admitted to the MSIH, the decision to grant the student visa is made by the Ministry of Interior.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure they possess a valid visa for the duration of the four years of study in Israel. The school does not grant deferments to students who are unable to obtain the necessary documents to enter or study in Israel nor can it reverse decisions taken by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. |
