The students in the Medical School for International Health are graded on an Honors/Pass/Fail system.

Grades are based on oral and written examinations and on observations of student performance. Evaluations using objective structured clinical examinations (OSCE) are used in some courses. Emphasis is placed on designing evaluations appropriate for the subject matter.

Each first year class to MSIH writes its own Code of Ethics in the initial weeks of their arrival. The code is formally printed and read aloud by the first year students at the Physician's Oath Ceremony. This code guides our medical students throughout their four years of formal study and clinical rotations required for the practice of medicine. The code is in addition to the Physician's Oath taken by MSIH students served in the first year.

The Dean’s List for Special Projects was created to recognize students who are involved in a teaching position, service or research project without remuneration, or other volunteer activity outside the curriculum, which requires a time commitment greater than one year. This list includes students from all four classes, who in the opinion of the senior faculty, have carried out such projects at any time since the commencement of their studies in the MSIH. The list is updated every academic year.
