Students have collaborated with researchers from the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Epidemiology Department, Zlotowski Center for Neuroscience, Soroka University Medical Center Gynecology and Neurology departments, and research and field work with human rights organizations.
Externships can be arranged from the ASRN (Medical Student Association) office or with the assitance of faculty members, during the summer between the first and second year at MSIH. Students have joined volunteer research efforts across the globe to participate in clinical settings that contrast sharply to the mainly frontal teaching style classes typical to the first year of medical school.
